Position Summary
The Material Mover is responsible for assisting in a variety of warehouse duties, including shipping and receiving, unloading and loading trucks, fulfilling purchase orders, and keeping the warehouse stocked with essential equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive trucks and unload material
- Store material systematically
- Prepare material needed for printing machine
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
- Verify truck contents to ensure conformance with shipping documents
- Inspection of outgoing trucks
- Inspect all orders being received and shipped, checking for damage, defective parts, and missing items
- Pack orders for delivery
- Operate forklift or other machinery required for transporting large orders and heavy products
- Performs duties required to load, unload and move raw material, finished parts and supplies within the plant
- Locates requested items in the warehouse
- Use a computer to enter and obtain material information and document all transactions in an ERP-System
- Load palletized shipments onto outbound vehicles
- Performing warehouse inventory controls and maintain high quality standards for audits
- Prepare/create delivery notes
- Work in a quality-conscious manner
- Additional duties as assigned
- Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in the production area
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year related experience and training preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Basic computer experience required. Microsoft Office, Excel, and Microsoft AX experience, preferred
- Must be able to read/write and interpret documents
- Availability to work in shift models (24/5 // 24/7 – on 8 or 12 hour shifts)
- Willingness to work overtime as needed and to assist in other departments, if necessary
Additional Requirements
- Must be certified to operate forklift and other machinery used for moving products
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Physical activity required including frequent bending, lifting, and standing
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must adhere and comply with high hygiene standard (e.g. hair nets required and jewelry is not allowed)
- Previous experience in print production environment preferred
