Supply Chain Specialist

Fibertex Personal Care is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of spunbond/spunmelt nonwoven fabrics for the hygiene industry.  Throughout our Innowo Print business, we possess a unique print technology, where colors and images are printed directly on many types of nonwoven materials.  In Asheboro, North Carolina we print on nonwoven and provide our customers with key components for baby diapers, feminine care, and adult incontinence care products.

Position Summary

The Operations Specialist is responsible for sourcing materials, supplier pricing, shipping of finished goods, receiving of raw materials and supplies, inventory control, AX subject matter expert, and ensuring the accuracy of pricing, standard costs and trade agreements in our ERP system.

The Operations Specialist is closely aligned with Planning, supports the Production team with AX troubleshooting and problem resolution, and participates in new customer and trial planning sessions.

Responsibilities

Inventory Management

• Ensure receiving and FIFO activities in the warehouse are being followed.
• Support cycle count process to ensure accuracy and control of inventory volumes.
• Oversee inventory counts; ensuring substrate, cores, endcaps and stretch film are correct.
• Work with the Operations Manager on ways to improve procedures.

Purchasing

• Negotiate / Update pricing with suppliers/vendors. Manage supplier relationships and performance.
• Be aware of business trends including product shortages, pricing increases, evolving supply chain disruptions, and implement counter measures.
• Verify purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to inventory list; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives.
• Prepare purchase orders.
• Interview current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, negotiate prices and delivery terms.

Shipping/Receiving

• Problem solve for customers / suppliers about shipping routes, delayed items, and rush orders.
• Prepare shipping paperwork and complete shipping transaction in appropriate systems.
• Quote freight rates for customer, locating most efficient and economical way of delivery.
• Track freight deliveries.
• Schedule loading and/or unloading appointments.
• Contact carriers for shipment pickup dates/times and delivery dates/times.
• Report damages and discrepancies to request reimbursement or re-shipment.

Ancillary Duties

• A point of contact for the Production Planner.
• Ensure all Operational Guidelines and Quick Guides for all areas of responsibility are created and updated annually.
• Timely completion of month-end task, such as, invoice approval, invoicing waste, closing open shipments in AX., assigning inks and solvents to CBOs, etc.
• Timely completion of quarterly tasks, such as, update trade agreements, update standard pricing and send KPIs to carriers.

Requirements & Experience

• 5-10+ years in supply chain management, operations and purchasing.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and working knowledge of AX Microsoft ERP systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be reliable with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Must have strong organizational skills and documentation skills.

While performing the duties, an employee is regularly required to talk or hear, walk or sit, stand, climb, use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, and to reach with hands or arms.

Work Environment
