We believe it is vital to strengthen our sustainable development efforts through local and global partnerships. By playing an active role in different national and international organisations, we want to contribute to sustainable decisions and to address the needs of our community and our industry.
Locally, in Northern Denmark – home of our headquarters – we were founding partners of the “Network for Sustainable Business Development in Northern Denmark” (NBE) in 2009, and have continued as members since then.
On an international scale, we are participating in several different collaborations.
First, we are very active members of EDANA, our trade organisation based in Belgium – and have been for many years. Apart from our CEO being chairman of the EDANA board, we are represented by colleagues in several groups such as The Sustainability for Personal and Healthcare Working Group, The Sustainability Steering Group, The Regulatory and Chemical Management Working Group, The Quality Assurance Program, The AHP Stewardship Programme Steering Committee and The Product Stewardship Steering Group – the latter as chairman.
It is also through our engagement in EDANA we collaborate with the entire nonwovens supply chain and where we played an active part in the work to create the first industry wide LCA study for spunmelt nonwoven products.
Another important partnership is with The Nonwovens Institute (NWI) in Raleigh, NC, USA. Here we engage with academia and colleagues in the global nonwovens industry. We have been members of NWI since 2012, and currently serve on the executive board of NWI.
Our presence in these different and broadly represented organisations serve as a valuable tool in exchange of experiences and insurance of joint efforts making sustainable possible.
